JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager, Community Outreach plays a critical role in strengthening Truth Initiative's connections to Black, Latino, LGBTQ, and other diverse communities. This position is responsible for developing, executing, and managing programs that amplify the organization’s mission of promoting cessation initiatives and freedom from nicotine addiction. The manager will lead strategic outreach efforts, cultivate relationships with key partners, and drive meaningful community impact through tailored programming and engagement initiatives.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL DUTIES):
1. Program Development and Execution *
This position is based in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and two telework days. This position requires occasional travel (up to 25%) to partner organizations, conferences, and community-based events.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
The salary range for this role is starting at $85,000-$90,000 on a national basis. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, relevant work experience, skillset, internal equity, location, and certifications, consistent with applicable law. Salary is just one part of our total rewards package which additionally includes equity, performance bonus for eligible roles, and competitive benefits.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL DUTIES):
1. Program Development and Execution *
- Design and implement culturally tailored outreach programs that resonate with diverse communities and promote Truth Initiative’s mission.
- Develop and work across the organization to refine educational materials, community toolkits, and resource guides to advance cessation and nicotine-free initiatives for diverse audiences.
- Lead outreach and engagement efforts to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, influencers, and leaders across Black, Latino, and LGBTQ communities.
- Identify, recruit, and collaborate with community partners, coalitions, and stakeholders to extend program reach and impact.
- Represent Truth Initiative at community events, conferences, and roundtables to elevate visibility and build trust.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align outreach strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
- Track and evaluate program performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate trainings, workshops, and presentations to equip communities with knowledge and tools to fight nicotine addiction.
- Develop culturally competent strategies for outreach and cessation support that meet the unique needs of target communities.
- Manage data collection and reporting tools (e.g., CRM platforms) to monitor outreach efforts and engagement.
- Provide detailed reports on program progress, success, and challenges to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Vice President of Outreach & Engagement to ensure outreach goals align with the broader organizational mission.
- Serve as the organization’s point person for community engagement initiatives, ensuring authenticity and trust in community relationships.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in community engagement, grassroots organizing, or outreach within Black, Latino, and/or LGBTQ communities.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage culturally tailored programs and initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience building partnerships with diverse organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with experience delivering trainings or educational sessions.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and outreach platforms to manage relationships and track engagement outcomes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Commitment to Truth Initiative’s mission of promoting cessation initiatives and freedom from nicotine addiction.
- Experience working within health equity, cessation programs, or tobacco/nicotine prevention initiatives is a plus.
- Understanding of cultural dynamics and intersectionality within Black, Latino, and LGBTQ communities is a plus.
